Cleaner sidebar navigation for everyday work

2026-06-25

Start faster from a simpler sidebar, open the files you need more quickly, and keep your account area easier to scan.

  1. Open MDFILESTORAGE and use the sidebar to move straight to Dashboard, Create, Manage, or your API pages.
  2. Keep your sidebar focused by opening only the files you return to often.
  3. Use the account area at the bottom as a quick sign-in reference when you need it.

Start from a simpler sidebar

MDFILESTORAGE now keeps the left sidebar focused on the pages you actually use every day. That means you can begin in the same place each time, move to Create when a new note is ready, switch to Manage when you want to organize files, or open your API pages when you need account details.

This makes the app easier to scan when you are returning to your private Markdown files after a break. Instead of sorting through extra items, the sidebar points you toward the next clear step.

Keep the files you open most within reach

When you are writing often, the most helpful sidebar is the one that stays calm. Open the files you are using right now, and keep Favorites for the notes that deserve repeat access. That way, you can move between your current draft and your important references without losing the rest of your workspace.

If a file is only useful for a short stretch of work, remove it from the active view when you are finished. This keeps the sidebar readable and helps the files you really need stay easy to spot.

Use the bottom account area as a quick reference

Your account area stays at the bottom of the sidebar so it is always in the same place. When you collapse the sidebar, the account icon remains available as a quick reference point, and when you expand it again, you can confirm which account is active.

That small routine makes the app easier to use during busy sessions: open the right page, check the account area when needed, and keep writing with fewer distractions.

Use it well

Turn this update into a smoother Markdown habit.

Try the improvement with one active file before changing your whole routine. Open a note you already use, follow the steps above, and notice where the workflow feels faster, clearer, or easier to repeat. Small changes are easier to keep when they solve a real task you already have.

After the first pass, apply the same approach to related notes, drafts, or project files. Keep names clear, remove anything that no longer belongs in your active files, and return to the update whenever you need a quick reminder of the best way to use the feature.
